thin

down by the lake-shore
gazing at my reflection
fractured circles spread

Thursday, August 1, 2013

The haunted coast.

spectral galleys drift
along the broken shoreline
moonlight fills their sails

Epping

so many green lights
the guardian emerges
tall and proud he stands

greed

insatiable maw
consuming the golden egg
unfulfilled we starve

pockmarks

he was once brighter
dimmed by chemical excess
half a man remains

the storm begins

the blue day darkens
and birds cease their reverie
a white flash bellows

the Antrim shoreline

a lone streetlight shines
lonely by the northern coast
circled by a bat

a Northern city

suspicious streets stare
everybody's a martyr
of a pointless cause

Tamarisk Way

tarmac framing squares
the fragrance after the rain
unremembered dreams

The Glass Isle

echoes of old wars
clinging to an illusion
crumbling into dust

Anya

1
emerald and purple
my beacon in the blackness
onward hand in hand
2
we mine the dark mire
seeking veins of paradise
together we stand
3
and when the sun sets
the last evening arrives
we become the land
4
then our lives return
to the planet now reborn
rising from the sand
5
molecules binding
the final cycle ending
as one we dissolve
6
the final return
life's penultimate swan song
a compound echo
7
as the light fades out
memories merge together
contented we sleep.

Toronto

over and under
the mega-city buzzes
island of the planes

Glendalough

leafy arms outstretched
blue lake shining from within
ancient wonder waits
